Vryheid High School Shines in Sport and the Arts

Vryheid High School has been turning heads again, with learners making their mark in both sports and the arts. Here’s a look at our recent highlights:

Sporting Spirit: PSG Games vs Empangeni High

On 10 May 2025, our teams faced Empangeni High School in our very first PSG fixtures—a day packed with excitement, friendly rivalry, and superb sportsmanship. If you’re curious about the results, be sure to check out our Facebook page for all the scores and action shots. Special thanks to Mr Zwane, Principal of Empangeni High, for his kind words and for helping us build a lasting sporting partnership.

Choir Hits a High Note at ATKV – Applous 2025

Our talented VHS Choir hit the stage at the prestigious ATKV – Applous 2025 competition and walked away with a silver certificate! Their passion and dedication to music truly shone through, and we couldn’t be prouder of their harmonious achievement.

Karate Kids Kick Higher

There’s no shortage of martial arts talent at VHS! Congratulations to Lwazi Mlotshwa, Ayanda Ndlovu, Bianca Erasmus, and Emma Mattison, who all excelled at the Natal JAKA karate competition. These four have now qualified for the SA JAKA Championship in Johannesburg—a testament to their commitment, skill, and hard work.

At Vryheid High School, we’re proud to support learners who excel both inside and outside the classroom—whether it’s on the sports field, the stage, or in martial arts gear.

We’re looking forward to hosting Richards Bay this weekend for our very first PSG home fixture. Good luck to all our learners for the week ahead—keep making us proud!
