As mentioned last week, we hit the ground running here at Vryheid High School and the school is a buzz with busy energy. On Monday, we donated life giving blood and that is not where our charity ends. Mrs. Elana van den Heever and her INTERACT team, as mentioned in prior articles, are avid supporters of the SPCA. This institution is having a Spring Ball, on 1 September. Mrs. Van den Heever and her big heart is naturally involved and she is selling tickets for two tables, at R100 per person. Should you wish to buy tickets, please contact her via the front desk or contact the SPCA directly if you wish to get involved with this initiative.
The matric learners are also very excited as they are making final preparations for their matric dance on Friday, 4 August. The theme of this year’s event is ‘Deck and Dice Ball’. We would like to thank Mrs. Schoeman, and her team of helpers, in advance for all the hard work, planning and preparation that goes into organising such a lavish event. We look forward to sit in front of the school hall on Friday evening oohing and aaahing at the learners in their evening wear. All are welcome to come and support our learners and cheer on our matrics as their high school careers are fast approaching an end. The last bit of fun, before it is back to the grind in preparations for preliminary exams.
Ms. Harris would also like to thank the community for their generous donations of tyres. So far we have 10, but we are still looking for a lot more. Please keep those tyres rolling in.
Lastly, a big congratulation to the boys in the photo who have all made it onto the Kwa-Zulu Natal Inlands team. Connor High, Rudolph Benecke and Sibonga Thabede all made the u/19 team, and Joshua Stoltenkamp the u/15 team. Well done boys, we are immensely proud of you.
